About Lyme Disease
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection you get from the bite of an infected tick. You can feel these lyme disease symptoms:
• A fever
• A headache
• Muscle and joint aches
• A stiff neck
• Fatigue
Lyme disease cannot be transmitted from an infected person to another person. The infection can involve multiple organ systems and has myriad manifestations, but is rarely, if ever, fatal. Ticks are small and can be hard to see. Immature ticks, or nymphs, are about the size of a poppy seed; adult ticks are about the size of a sesame seed.• Some people may experience heart problems — such as an irregular heartbeat — several weeks after infection, but this rarely lasts more than a few days or weeks. Eye inflammation, hepatitis and severe fatigue are possible as well.
